DuPont Impact Tester for Paint Coating Impact Resistance Test UP-3019

This tester is designed to evaluate the impact endurance of coating materials after application. The testing procedure involves placing the coated face of the specimen upward and connecting it with a specified radius impact head. A selected weight is then dropped from a fixed height to impact the head, after which the coating is examined for damage or deformation.

For painting and coating materials testing, an impacting head with various round angles contacts the specimen initially. A selected weight then free-falls from a predetermined height to strike the impacting head and impact the specimen. After testing three additional specimens using the same method and allowing them to rest for one hour, the paint is inspected for cracks.
