Product Description
Product Overview

The UP-2000-P is a single-column, desktop tensile tester developed for plastic materials. It is built on the common UP-2000 mainframe — touch screen servo control system, high-precision load cell and customizable test stroke — and is configured specifically for plastics with dedicated wedge grips and a preset plastic test program.

Its purpose is to eliminate the two failures that ruin most plastic tensile tests: specimen slippage in the jaws and premature breakage at the clamping position. Custom wedge grips with rubber anti-slip jaw inserts are self-tightening during tensile loading, so dumbbell specimens of PP, PE, PVC, ABS, Nylon and PC are held firmly from zero load to break. Operators enter sample width and thickness, press start, and the system automatically calculates tensile strength, elongation at break and elastic modulus, then exports the force-elongation curve and test report.

UP-2000-P single-column touch screen tensile tester for plastics with desktop mainframe and wedge grips
Key Features
  • Anti-slip wedge grips for plastics: wedge grips fitted with rubber anti-slip jaw inserts, self-tightening under tensile load to prevent dumbbell specimen slippage.
  • Preset plastic test template: built-in plastic tensile and elongation program in the touch screen system — one-click start after entering sample width and thickness.
  • Automatic result calculation: tensile strength, elongation at break and elastic modulus are calculated and reported automatically, with no manual data processing.
  • Full data traceability: force-displacement / force-elongation curve generated in real time; test reports exported to PDF or Excel via USB or Ethernet.
  • Wide, stable speed control: servo control system with a test speed range of 0.1–500 mm/min to match different plastic standards and specimen geometries.
  • Operator and machine protection: overload and over-travel protection built in.
  • Desktop single-column structure: compact footprint for production-line inspection stations, R&D labs and third-party testing rooms.
  • Standard compliance: supports ISO 527 and ASTM D638 — the most widely used plastic tensile standards in manufacturing and third-party laboratories.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What plastic samples can the UP-2000-P test?

A: It supports dumbbell-shaped specimens of PP, PE, PVC, ABS, Nylon and PC, as well as plastic sheet and extruded profiles. It is suitable for tensile strength, elongation at break and modulus testing of both rigid and semi-rigid plastics.

Q: How do you avoid plastic specimen slippage during tensile testing?

A: The machine uses wedge grips with rubber anti-slip jaw inserts designed for plastic specimens. We also recommend preparing standard dumbbell specimens to ISO 527 / ASTM D638, which effectively reduces slipping and premature breakage at the clamping position.

Q: Does the machine come with a preset test program for plastics?

A: Yes. The touch screen system contains built-in plastic tensile test templates. After entering sample width and thickness, you can start the test with one click, and the system generates force-elongation curves and test reports automatically.

Q: Can I use the UP-2000-P to test recycled plastic materials?

A: Yes. Recycled plastic often shows unstable elongation. This tester records the full test data, helping you check material batch consistency for incoming quality control.

Q: Which standards does the machine comply with?

A: It supports ISO 527, ASTM D638 and GB/T 1040, the most common standards used by plastic manufacturers and third-party testing laboratories.

Q: What type of grips are supplied with the UP-2000-P?

A: Wedge grips fitted with rubber anti-slip jaw inserts. They are self-tightening during tensile loading, which reduces specimen slippage for ISO 527 / ASTM D638 dumbbell specimens.

Q: Can I test other materials by changing the grips?

A: Yes. The UP-2000-P, UP-2000-M, UP-2000-F and UP-2000-A use the same single-column main unit, so you can switch test applications by changing the matched grips and selecting the corresponding preset test program. Each machine is supplied with one set of standard grips only; additional grips are optional and purchased separately. Grip replacement does not change the load capacity of the tester, and frequent disassembly may affect specimen alignment and data repeatability.

Q: Can I test plastic, metal, film and tape on one machine?

A: The mainframe is common to the whole UP-2000 series, so multi-material testing is possible with the matching grips and programs. For laboratories that test several material types routinely, please send us your sample specifications and we will recommend the right configuration.
