The UP-4002 Flexing Durability Testing Machine features independent testing positions for simultaneous evaluation of multiple leather specimens, designed to determine material resistance to cracking and other failures at flexing creases.
Bally Resistance Flexing Tester designed to determine the resistance of materials to cracking or other types of failure at flexing creases. The method is applicable to all flexible materials, particularly leathers, coated fabrics, and textiles used in footwear uppers.
The test specimen is folded in half with one end secured in a clamp. The specimen is then turned inside out and the free end secured in a second clamp at 90 degrees to the first. The first clamp repeatedly oscillates through a fixed angle at a defined rate, causing the specimen to flex. At set intervals, the number of flexing cycles is recorded and specimen damage is visually assessed. Testing can be performed with wet or dry specimens at ambient conditions.
