It is particularly applicable to outsoles that have a maximum longitudinal rigidity of 30 N, as specified in relevant standards. The machine measures the flexing resistance of shoe soles under continuous movement by mounting specimens at both grips (one fixed, one movable) and running flexing tests to evaluate incision length differences after specified test cycles.
